It's been an absolutely beautiful spring day! I actually started feeling the warmth of the sun on our walk thismorning, which was lovely. However, despite having done quite a good clean last weekend, today the sun shining on the television screen ( TV not on) showed up big smeary bits that looked remarkably like....well, Labrador slobber!
I really can't think that she's taken to drooling over the TV! It's a bit of a mystery!

They shake their slobbery very heads and sneeze. It gets everywhere be glad shes not a boy

There's a hint of an autumnal nip in the air which, even as someone who loves the heat, is finding it a relief from the searing heat and humidity. We've had some rain too. We're about to cop a deluge off the back of cyclone Alfred on Sunday/Monday. The cyclone is unusually far south and hitting around the border of NSW and QLD; they are normally in the top end of Australia. Its been 51 years since Brisbane had one and the poor people in and around Lismore in NSW who are only just recovering from the dreadful floods of 2022 are going to cop it again 😔

Absolutely beautiful Spring weather here again today! I had my post-walk cup of coffee in the garden, having first opened every window in the house to let the fresh air in. Joy and I then spent the rest of the day in the garden tidying up (me) and snoozing in the sunshine (her). We had a visit from a pair of geese on the canal just below the garden. I have started feeding them at about the same time every afternoon and now they turn up regularly every day20250308_142834.jpgThen we had a spot of grooming. The Spring moult has definitely started20250308_153422.jpgand then I ordered another delivery of logs. All this sunshine is wonderful, but I don't quite believe we've seen the end of the cold weather yet. I keep remembering that The Beast from the East happened in March!🥶

Yes it it a high pressure system and turned it directly towards the QLD coast around Brisbane and the Gold Coast. So much rain! Lots of flooding and hundreds of thousands of homes without power but I believe the worst is over thank goodness. Our expected deluge down here did not eventuate so that's good too

Ooh how exciting! Love the idea of spa jets!

We're currently doing a major renovation of the backyard (we've removed a retaining wall and have been digging out 30 cubic metres of sand!). When we're finally done, we'll have the pool (7m x 4m) and should (fingers crossed) have the monkey bars and tramp too. Watch this space 😂
