That’s one thing I don’t miss about Scotland, the dark in the winter. But in the summer the days were much longer, and it was light so late in the evening that when I had chickens sometimes I had a job to get them to go to bed before I did.These sunrise and sunset times for today are ridiculousI cannot wait until I can drive in the light again!!

It was a murky day here yesterday until about 2 0'clock when the sun made an appearance. Cassie had her long walk in the afternoon, we came up the banl out of the woods just before dark. The sun was setting and the mist rising again from the ground.
The birds are still singing just not the full spring song. They are practicing.

Lots and lots of flooding around us . We are safe in higher ground but yesterday late afternoon we could not get out of the village, all roads flooded . Golitha was hit badly , the woodland cafe was under about two feet of water when the river burst its banks and according to our friends the owners , people were still trying to get into the flooded car park to walk their dogs . Quite a lot of poor souls have needed rescuing by the fire services so , its dire x

I could see today that the River Wye has burst it's banks, the very same that stopped me leaving the county back in February. All the streams that flow into it from here are not yet overflowing, I hope it stays that way.
