Weather

My garden is full of water and there is to be NO reprieve from the 50/60 mph winds and the heavy rain, until Tuesday night at 9pm.

Good thing you are going today Mags - I think flights and trains will be severely disrupted at Frankfurt from tonight onwards. All schools and Kindergartens are going to be closed in the Cologne area tomorrow. It’s going to be a shocker - our forests are very weakened by two years of drought and beetle attack; the woods are going to be lethal tomorrow.

Annoyingly, two big dead fir trees were supposed to be taken down in our garden tomorrow. I’m sure that’ll be cancelled now - and hopefully the storm won’t do the job instead.

Took the boys out at 7 this morning, was gusty but no worse than we’ve been out in when in Scotland. Now the wind is really getting up, I’m not liking it all, especially in a different house, on my own, I don’t know where the vulnerable areas are :scared:.

My goodness you’re determined @Boogie , hope all goes well.

Joy and I braved it for fifteen minutes round the block just so she could do the necessary. I wore my wellies and my trusty Seasalt big waterproof and only got wet (very wet) in the knee area. Joy seemed no more keen to prolong the experience than I was and is now very kindly helping with the corners of my toast. Indoor games and Kong's for her today too. Soup making and ironing for me, plus a good book and maybe watch one of the films I have recorded.

We just had a lull in the storm , so I donned the waterproofs and took Reuben up the village on lead . Just fifteen minutes is all we had as it started gusting again , but he has gone to his bed for a nap , as far as he is concerned he has been out so all is well with the world x
:giggl: I did just the same thing, I opted to walk across a field well away from any trees, then the wind gathered itself and I had a job to remain vertical .

The rain came horizontally and Cassie was looking at me like "what are we doing here?" So I said to her "well, it was your idea" !!!! And so on....
he has been out so all is well with the world
Same for Cassie :)

We’ve landed and the weather is fine here but forecast stormy soon so I’m hoping to get on a train asap (Frankfurt - Mannheim - Heidelberg).

The take off was very bumpy indeed but the rest of the flight uneventful.

Mike and Tina have invited friends for a board game party this afternoon/evening while Omi entertains Anuka!

The view across the valley from our bedroom window. In the distance you can just make out what looks like a lake but is infact the football pitch. Joy keeps looking out through the glass in the back door then flapping as if she's wet! Very wild here. If it wasn't for the trees I wouldn't mind a towpath walk, but they often blow down in lesser winds than this, so we'll stick to round the block for now.IMG_20200209_105833.jpg
