The rain stopped for a while at about 1pm so we went for a little stroll. Lots of people out with their dogs, taking advantage of the break in the weather and looking to see what damage had been done. So far it's not quite as bad as Boxing Day 2015, but the bridge on the main road is closed again, the river is very high and meeting the canal at some points and it's as well we didn't try a towpath walk!IMG_20200209_124444.jpgIMG_20200209_124819.jpgIMG_20200209_130709.jpgIMG_20200209_130727.jpgIMG_20200209_131902.jpgIMG_20200209_130313.jpg

I managed to take Red for a very quick walk around the village but even she was keen to get back inside. She’s been sleeping in her bed all day but she’s just played ‘find it’ around two rooms and ‘find it’ in the bun tray. What a weird day - the rain is horizontal - we are snug in our conservatory listening to and watching the wind and rain. One of the fences (fortunately neighbours responsibility) has come away from it‘s post and is flapping. I hope that will be sorted quickly

Homer insisted on an afternoon walk so we went to play ball for a little bit in the park, standing in the middle away from all the trees. A lady came in with her little dog and said it wasn't as bad as they predicted. Honestly :shake: ! Although we are protected in London a great deal and we haven't yet had the heavy rain, it's coming I checked. It's blowing a hoolie out there! On our way back Homer got blown sideways, which took him by surprise.

Finn had to go out. He went with oh while it is storming here. No rain still. But predicted. Finn always wants to sit on the edge of the water and do his ‘business’. He went there, sat down and almost blew away. He couldn’t poo....otherwise he would have flown in the wind. OH had to take him elsewhere and after this he followed OH so that he didn’t catch the full load of wind. Ears flapping in the wind and eyes almost closed. He definitely didn’t like it to go outside...

My friends Jason and Sofija have had their dining room and kitchen flooded again. They're being very stoical about it, but they've been trying to sell it for over a year now and this won't help. I feel so sorry for them. To make matters worse Sofija's meant to be starting a new job tomorrow.

I hate to hear about flooding , poor people , it takes so long to clean up and dry out at this time of year too ,x

Yes, it took until August before they were properly dried out last time, and could start having new floors etc. put in. Eight months without a kitchen! I really hope it's not so bad this time.

I’m on the train home from Surrey - have been travelling since 08:30 this morning due to cancelled trains, trees down etc. but hopefully now on the last leg :fingers:. I’m slightly travel-crumpled and am missing OH & Kipster something rotten!
(This journey would normally take ~3 hrs, it’s taken 9 hrs so far...). Thank goodness for tea :coffee:
