Weather

We’ve had no rain for ages and none forecast for at least another week. I’ve never worn summer clothes at the end of April until this year and, after a few chilly days, need summer clothes again! It’s lovely to have pleasantly sunny days, but the garden needs rain…

According to our garden weather station, the last rain we had was 26th/27th April and that was 3.2mm over night (bar some drizzle we had the other day for < half an hour). The land needs rain, I see a lot of sileage being cut at the moment but our food crops will need rain soon.

The TT racing starts next week with the pre-TT Classic races by us on Friday - it's sure to rain then

I drove down through mid Wales yesterday, I couldn't believe how dry the hills are looking, they are usually so lush and green.

We had a really freakish hailstrorm here on Monday afternoon, for nearly ten minutes it was ferocious consisting of chips of ice the size of which I have never seen before. My plants salad crops in pots by mt back door have gone for a burton, and my sweet peas and foxgloves are not looking good.
