I was about to say "us too" because we have a second fridge and freezer in our shed.... I realised what you really meant

Apparently we're getting a gross 39 degrees for Christmas day

I'll try to make the most of the cooler weather over the next few days!

Nothing here yet, but a red/amber weather warning for snow and wind from 8pm thisevening. Looking a bit grim in Derbyshire, according to the local news, and heading this way. We'll see!

We are due very heavy rain about now. Temperature is 1 degree but forecast says ‘feels like -4’!

And here we are in the midst of a heatwave. There are some bushfires already out of control down south and the weather set to get worse today/tomorrow

Power is back, for now at least , its a god job we had lots of candles bought for us at Christmas ! xxx

Only fully off for about half and hour but now we have the flickering on and off malarky, it sounds horrendous out there xx

Still no snow here, just very heavy cold rain. It's reached my brother in Nottingham though, so I presume it's working its way up to us.....

I have just walked both dogs in very heavy rain and winds. Not surprising I didn’t see another person until I was almost home. The rain was icy and neither dog hung about sniffing which they both like to do. We are now warm and drying off. Red normally hates her towelling robe but she has accepted it today and is curled up on her bed. I actually feel revitalised

No power though, went off at 10 last night and not yet back on. Could be a long one.

Our power went off again late evening , its back this morning thank goodness . We have a fence panel smashed to bits, the one that should be attached to the garden gate so the garden is not safe for the dogs until we can get someone to replace the panel . The shed roof looks a bit worse for wear but at the side of many others down here , we are thankful that it isnt worse . Very many trees down blocking roads and at one point, there were almost 50.000 homes without power xx

Gosh Kate, it sounds like you got away very lightly. Hopefully it won't be too long to get the fence secure again.

You were very much in my thoughts Kate when I saw the news this morning, it sounded really rough in Cornwall and I was so worried about you. I am relieved it wasn't worse, but nevertheless you have damage to cope with and I hate loss of power.

We seem to have got off very lightly, if anything it was less windy than usual for the time of year and down here in the valley we haven't had any snow, although there's probably some up on the tops. Thinking of those of you who've had it so much worse and hoping you can get things fixed and mended before too long.
