What made you smile today?

What made me smile this morning was standing on the train station waiting for my train to work and feeling a bit cold! I've got short sleeves on as usual but could have done with a light jacket. It was a stinking hot day yesterday - 35 - and I had a job interview so I'm sure I turned up looking like I needed a shower! Anyway the cool change overnight is very welcome....and it's supposed to rain for the next 5 days which we need but is a shame for my SIL who is visiting from NZ. They get a LOT of rain over there so I'm sure she would prefer the sunshine to continue. Oh well.

It's SO windy here tonight! Howling around the house! Lots of creaking and bumping noises (old house). I rather like it. Little Joy and I are very cosy by the fire with some cocoa. She's not barking, so I know we're safe. I'm just remembering a poem I loved as a child, Robert Louis Stevenson's 'Windy Nights'. I'd forgotten all about it until now! It's nice that it's come back to me. Does anyone else remember it?

It sounds blissful Candy :) I didn’t know that poem so have just looked it up: Windy Nights by Robert Louis Stevenson
It’s very atmospheric, perfect for such a night as this - thank you for the discovery x

Ella is being such a good girl and snuggling up with me instead of sulking because she's barely been out for a decent walk the last couple of days.

Also, Nathan finally learnt to say "Tr" properly (he always used to say "F" instead). No more embarrassing moments when he yells "look mummy a truck!" when we're out in public 🤦

Oh yes, I like that one.

Ella was fast asleep in the lounge room when OH walked into the laundry and picked up her collar and lead. As soon as she heard the sound, she exploded into bum tucking zoomies with a wall of death on the couch :rofl:

I think someone was a little excited about going for her walk today after missing out yesterday.

Slightly inappropriate house zoomies, but still quite funny :giggl:
