Well... That puts my plastic tree to shame... Finally got it up today and in a fit of Christmas spirit I ordered ornaments for Rowan and Chewie.

What made me smile was turning to see Rowan sitting in his high chair, having his foot thoroughly licked by the dog (he had just been bathed and moisturised). The fascinated look on his little face was priceless. I did feel obliged to move the dog along though.

My nephew, currently living in North Vancouver sent me a video of a garden near where his girlfriend lives yesterday. It's even more OTT than your neighbours'! Is it a particularly Canadian thing?

Maybe? This Toronto home's festive display is like something out of a Christmas movie

My guess is it's the same in the States.

Otter did a lovely memory retrieve today....her first....and a smart hand delivery. She was soooo happy with herself! I wasn't until I lined her up I realised that I hadn't a cue for "fetch!"

I agree! I do love the lights, especially trees with strings of lights on the trunks, or on the branches. But all that blow-up clutter is too much!

But like I said, it's still kinda cheery when you are walking around the neighbourhood. January seems so dark and gloomy once the lights go down. Although around here there are quite a few that celebrate Ukranian Christmas which falls after our Christmas, so some leave their lights up until after that, which is nice!

Someone who works in another department stopped by my desk to ask if I had a labrador...she has been admiring the Forum calendar for awhile and had a yellow (dudley) lab that passed away last November at age 12. She said she loves walking past my desk!
