What made you smile today?

My village made me smile today, its just the best x I had finally cleared the greenhouse of garden waste, it had been full as our local tip has only just opened . I have grown tomatoes for many years and had been lamenting the lack of them this year, so unbeknown to me , Paul went to Mole Valley Farmers near to us and came back with two bags of multi compost , one large bottle of fertilizer , and three very tiny, sad looking tomato plants , they only cost 10p each so I couldnt grumble and thought I would give them a chance although they were very sad looking weedy specimens . This morning I have had loads of village friends offer me tomato plants , no one wanted any money for them so we went to fetch five enormous plants which are now planted in the greenhouse , staked up and tied with garden string . I have left the miserable ones in there, just in case ! I love that in times of need, people in my village will always come up trumps , so I will put some goods in the food bank tub next time we shop xx

Today my clever little Social Distancing Dog made me smile. For the last twelve weeks whenever we've been out walking and seen someone approaching I have left the track/ footpath, called her to me, asked for a Sit and Stay and fed her squeezy cheese while the people pass. On the Moor today every time she saw someone walking towards us she took herself off the track, then did a beautiful Sit and Stay without being asked and gazed up adoringly at me, licking her lips! I have inadvertently trained her to practice social distancing it seems and I'm wondering if she's going to do it forever now!:giggl:

I’ve done a similar thing with Red - we move off the path and she does a ‘middle’ without me asking now - she always gets a treat. Today in the car park at the beach, a man went to the boot of his car whilst we were putting stuff in our boot. There was at least 2 metres distance as the car park was almost empty and not marked out at all. Red saw the man and moved into a ‘middle’ - I smiled 😊
