There are 5 glass baubles (there were 6) which were the ones I bought for my first christmas in my new house back in 1992, and a couple of Mexican ones I bought in 1991 when I was working there just before christmas. They are all collected, with love, over the years.

My friend Fiona (who has Fox Terriers) and I sent each other photos of our Christmas trees today. She sent me one of her normal, conventional tree, very pretty.......then she sent me this, saying 'And here is the Foxie one!'

Yes I did but I found that there was some mysterious disappearances in the veggie safe bin. I have had a few flashbacks to a black dog parading round the garden with carrots.

Yesterday (Christmas Eve) Jackson decided he wanted to wear jocks (underwear) instead of a nappy. He's coming up to 2.5yrs so we decided to bite the bullet and give toilet training a go. What could possibly go wrong hey

Well so far he's done so well, even at the in-laws for most of the day today with the madness of Christmas day. He only had one change and it wasn't through lack of trying. He was half way through pulling down his shorts and suddenly said "oh no mummy, my wee is coming out right now!"

Fingers crossed we're on the right track... I can't wait for no more nappies!

We met my step son’s new girlfriend on Boxing Day. She is Spanish and absolutely delightful….but more importantly she made friends with Red in less than five minutes of coming through the front door - in my book that means she’s a keeper

OH was having one of these today and Rowan wanted to try it. He sniffed it and said "I smelled daddy's drink and I do not want any."

We caught up with my two closest school friends, some of their family and dogs (Chewie, a sweet staffie, a beautiful outgoing Rottie and a cranky dachshund) and it was lovely mayhem. Chewie was a loveable menace as usual.

Today we bought a bird bath! Currently trying to figure out where the best spot for it is. I hope the birds use it I love watching happy birds having a baff. It should make for fantastic cat tv
