    Bella!

I'm so happy you took her in and that your family loves her! I feel like crying that she will have fun, love and cuddles (and walks!) now! Fingers crossed that surgery goes well. I'm sad for her previous owner too - what a difficult position to be in  but must be such a relief to have found...

    What made you smile today?

Ordered Quinn a ruff and tumble and it's already shipped...but maybe a half smile, since the cost in CDN$ made me wince!

Ruff and Tumble Sale now on

Looks like the US site does not get the sale! Darn.

    What made you smile today?

Spring has arrived and one member of the family is happier than anyone! Donโ€™t mind my reflection, I suck at taking pictures!

    What made you smile today?

Even if you didn't know it at the time, it was bought for her...:ROFLMAO:

    Lady

Sorry to hear that Lady is declining. Hopefully the increased meds give her some relief and she can spend time doing things she enjoys with you!

    RIP Duke

My best friend's dog, Duke, is being put to sleep this morning. Duke is almost 10, and they found out riddled with cancer and a tumour against his wind pipe. He has gotten very skinny and is in pain. Duke spent his first night with me, and kept me up all night coughing. Poor tiny guy had kennel...

    How long are your walks?

For us the season is a factor - very hot and humid summer days and extreme cold/dark in the winter mean shorter walks. Our usual routine is 35-40 mins early morning run and play with a group of neighbourhood dogs, 30 min lunch hour stroll with OH, maybe some ball play and on leash evening walk...

    Seriously dandruffy dog

I add omega oil, which has made a big difference over the winter with her dandruff. Quinn is also on a single protein food (lamb) with added oils - she still gets dandruff, and it shows with any rubbing - harness or coat especially but it's better this year for sure. I bought a rubber brush that...

    Hattie's Tripping and Wobbliness

Poor Hattie - I'm sorry, this must be so upsetting and scary for you both. I hope your vet can help get to the bottom of things.

    Cottage cheese?

I use cottage cheese sometimes for kongs and lickit mat, as well as plain yogurt but as a treat, not for any real gut health reasons. I used a powder probiotic - started with Purina fortiflora for 2 months, then moved to Adored Beast products (Gut Soothe at first) - all to build up gut health...

    Ball ๐ŸŽพ obsessed

Until your dog joins another family because they have a ball that might be (*definitely is) better that yours

    Not Pleased

Totally possible, plus some snow eating on top of that! OH is taking responsibility that he has not been paying enough attention to making sure she is peeing right before he leaves (he takes her out twice - once when first home in the morning and before leaving again in the afternoon). We'll...

    Not Pleased

This is the only explanation I can think of - she had to go and got herself too wound up. It's odd, I was later per our routine by about 45 mins, but she wasn't alone longer in actual time since OH was home in the afternoon. She usually will go to the door if she needs to go, which is rare since...

    Not Pleased

Iโ€™m very unhappy with Quinn tonight...I had to work a bit late, so got home later than usual. We were doing our usual routine - she gets a toy and runs upstairs and jumps on the bed where we have a little play and I get changed for our walk. She was extra hyper and was digging up the made...

    Best Friend Freddy

Lucky dogs to have such a fun neighbour! P.S. I hope Merlin got a treat after that last picture, because that face right there is irresistible!

    First grey hairs!

Quinn also started getting some grey on her chin around age 2...she's now getting quite a full grey muzzle at age 4 :'( Ran into someone who had a 13 year old black lab with zero grey...it must be genetic! Although Quinn is pretty high on the stress/anxiety scale so who knows!

    OMG weight gain!

Quinn gained quite a bit of weight around age 2.5-3, was up to 68lbs (30.8kg) and we thought she looked good and muscular and was maturing. However, her vet wants her to be around 58lbs (26kg)! Vet said it's better to be on the slim side of perfect than the heavy side of perfect health wise and...
