    Prepping our space for puppy

Exciting!! I’d have a crate in the bedroom for nighttime, at the least. I wouldn’t let the pup sleep in a room alone. If you can’t get a crate in time then a very large plastic tub would do for the bedroom, while the pup is small.

    Homer's tooth

Oh you poor thing. Don’t worry, you’re getting this sorted and he will soon be feeling good as new. I’m sure that he’ll be in very competent hands, whichever option you go with (though The Ralph sounds pretty great!).

    Ginny

I admit that when I read your update I interpreted “her little bimbles” as a cute term for her feet. Then I remembered that “bimble” is British for “a casual, meandering walk”. But I do like it as a word for cute dog feet so I think I will repurpose it.

Good that you have some options. I’d look at their qualifications. You could also chat to your vet about their experiences with these specialists. If they’ve recommended them they’re probably both good options.

    Show me your treat bags!

Yes, get two. If I do clicker stuff with my horse I use two (they need a lot of treats!!).

This is not meant to be!!

That’s great!!! Definitely bend it frequently, as much as the swelling will allow. Gotta get those joints doing their thing so you get full mobility back.

    Show me your treat bags!

We use the Doggone Good ones. Plenty of hidey holes for things. They hold up well and can be easily washed in the machine. https://www.traininglines.co.uk/doggone-good-rapid-rewards-training-treat-pouch.html

    Fence- running

Glad you were able to resolve it, Helen. It is not easy, as you know!

    Fence- running

It’s impossible to be present constantly to prevent these inherently rewarding behaviours. That’s why managing the environment to reduce the opportunities for barking, the intensity of the contact and/or the distance of the target (the other dog) is a sensible step to take. Also, you have to...

    Homer's tooth

Dogs are really good at hiding significant pain, carrying on with normal behaviours... We really have to treat injuries to dog teeth the same way we’d treat similar injuries to our own teeth... Unfortunately, non-specialist vets often don’t know much about teeth and wrongly suggest a wait and...

    Nails

Agree, try emery (spelling??) boards. Slow, but low stress. Just do a toe or two at a time if you want to.

    Fence- running

Sounds worth a go for sure! At the very least a bit more distance and the lack of a common fence line will help, even if it may not have much to do with who ‘owns’ that area. Modifying the environment is always a great option to try.

    Memory Foam Bed

Throws are ok. Sofas ok if either style or colour are identical. 😉

    Memory Foam Bed

If I had two dogs it’d drive me bonkers if the two beds didn’t match exactly 😂
