    Hi

Welcome to the forum! What a beautiful dog Storm is. Here’s Obi in Australia :)

    A traumatic morning.

Animals are also initially unresponsive due to shock...they can seem unaffected when they’re really in a shut down, frozen kind of state.

    A traumatic morning.

Poor lass. Eventually it will be barely noticeable though it looks dramatic now. Must hurt :(

    A traumatic morning.

Glad she’s gradually doing some more of her normal things... The wound will be very swollen. It will shrink down a lot in time. Obi got attacked once which left him with a wound of similar size (4 inches plus) but once healed it was less than an inch in length. You can faintly detect it when...

    A traumatic morning.

I’m so sorry, this is appalling. Thank goodness for the scaffolding men. Poor Joy 😢😢😢😢

    Maxx the runaway

Yesterday we narrowly avoided the Aussie edition involving a very large, very ripe kangaroo 🤢🤮🤮🤮 Fortunately the long lead (referred to above) saved the day, just as Obi’s shoulder was dropping down to meet the deceased roo.

    Maxx the runaway

The immense fun of running off and exploring is hard to compete with...don’t feel like you’ve failed in your training. We use this lead: Long Lead Regular (5 metre)

    Maxx the runaway

Oh Obi is just the same 🤦‍♀️ He does that on the beach (goes up the dunes) and we have to run after him. We often walk in a park that has backyards backing onto it along its length and one time Obi ran off and through an open gate into someone’s yard. This yard was full of old cars and junk...

    Harley & paramedics

With the experience of mine I mentioned above I didn’t get the pain till about 36 hours after the incident. Then, bam!

Poppy seizures - medicating with Pexion

Oh no, I had thought this was all in the past too 😢 How terribly distressing for her and all of you. Are the meds something you can carry with you? It might be years before she has another. I hope so.

    Harley & paramedics

So glad you are ok (as far as all the really bad stuff goes). What a beautiful girl Harley is 💜💜💜💜 The worst pain I’ve had was from a torn chest (rib) muscle. Had to have a fentanyl injection. Do you have decent painkillers?

    Remembering Lily today

    What a sweet face.

    A poo question (sorry!)

I think that more mucous means a longer transition time in the gut. It could be related to having a higher rotation of novel foods, so his gut is playing catch-up, adapting to the new variety. That can take a while. I wouldn’t worry too much about it for now...see if it changes over the next...

Snorted a grass seed - is this an emergency?

Guessing a bit but I’d say it’s because the tool they need to use is a pretty specialised bit of kit. Had a chicken once that inhaled a grass seed and what was needed was a fine scope with a suction capacity. In this instance the vet had the training/skill but didn’t have that kind of scope at...

    The man on the phone

What a knob. Shouldn’t be allowed to own a dog at all.

    The great crate debate

    Ditch the crate.

A new addition to my son's family!

    How gorgeous!

    Naughty Harley

Oh yeah, wafer biscuits are quality. But chocolate 😄 The tin totally over-promised and the content massively under-delivered.

    Merry Christmas?

Oh Simba!!!! Our first Labrador Nicolae would eat kilos of grapes off our big grapevine every autumn without a problem. So it’s not something that affects all or even most dogs.
