    The vets again !!!

That's really not good enough . Forgetting once is bad enough but not to respond when you leave messages is appalling. Of course he may not have received the messages because of evil receptionist.....

Spencer - Guide Dog In Training 🐾

Sounds pretty much as I train loose lead, lots of treating for looking. It's hard work for the pups (and the humans) but gets such good results quickly.

    Video on Puppy socialisation

Most definitely. From bringing Juno home at 10 weeks I did very little in exposing her to new sights, sounds etc. Well when I say very little, I actually mean none :unsure: apart from a little walk down our drive to stand/sit and wait to see some traffic go past - well a car or tractor...

    Video on Puppy socialisation

Probably the most excessive, or should that be obsessive, list for socialisation/habituation/new experience has to be by Dr Sophia Yin. I'm sure some dogs could cope with the intensity of new experience thrust upon them if you follow her guidance, I do feel though that for many dogs it would do...

    Video on Puppy socialisation

For me, not completely. 'Getting used to' could mean that they aren't openly reacting to something (barking, lungeing, trying to run away for example) whereas habitation the aim is that they learn to ignore environmental stimulus and just carry on. An example for me would be going to a vet. A...

    Video on Puppy socialisation

If you're really geeky habituation is a little more than getting your dog used to the environment. Habituation can be described as the process whereby an animal becomes accustomed and de-sensitised to non-threatening environmental stimuli and learns to ignore them. ☺

    Kitty Kat

If it were me I would be walking away as I think pet ownership has to be a joint decision and commitment. Last September I removed my name from a puppy wait list because my OH had started having doubts about having a puppy, which I do understand with Juno and her problems. I was really upset...

    Sea Treats biscuits

I'm really disappointed with Fish4dogs. Not only do they discontinue Sea Biscuits but also the other fishy biscuits I used to buy for Juno :( . I've tried, well Juno has tried :) these https://www.skipperspetproducts.com/white-fish-potato and also these Salmon, White Fish & Potato Biscuits. They...

    Cant pinpoint anything but ...

Oh poor Nelly. It might well be the hedgehog night watch that's causing the problem. Is she eating/drinking ok?Just keep an eye on her and if doubt a quick vet trip - just to make sure everything is fine. x

Food Supplements and Joint Disease – is there any evidence?

Not silly at all Kate. I find some brands of painkiller more effective than others even though they deliver the same amount of active ingredient. If we notice a difference I have no logical reason to doubt that dogs have similar reactions.
