I know he would have been fine if he had been rehomed as per original plans, but he had become so much part of the forum family I think we would have been a bit gutted.
Even if he wasn't with me, he would have stayed part of the forum. He has his ways. ;)

But I'm very grateful he's staying with me. And hopefully he likes our weird life even if he does sometimes have thoughts of running away and forming a Labrador commune.

This weekend, I took Willow up to Andorra. It's holiday season now, and the popular trails are busy. On the Saturday, we were far more out in the wilderness, but I just wanted to do a short one on Sunday, and that meant dealing with people. Willow was good as gold. As people walked towards us, we stepped off the path to the side in case they didn't like dogs. However, there were two occasions where there were people with children, stopped on the trail, without any opportunity to walk around. On both of these occasions, a young girl (both times about 7/8 years of age) shrieked and flapped just as we got level. There was a time when this would have totally freaked Willow out and she'd have been an anxious, barking mess, but on the first occasion she just walked on by and the second time, she dropped the ball she'd been carrying and asked for it to be thrown. I couldn't have been prouder of her.

Wow, that's huge. Brava Fiona and Willow! :monkey:

This is a silly one but I can now water my garden without Monty having a full on woofing episode. I've been throwing kibble one piece at a time on the decking and he now forages for that while I'm watering rather than trying to attack the hose.
He is still allowed to woof when we are playing with the hose on the lawn to cool him down, but I'm going to let that go as it's only a few minutes a couple of times a week in the summer. Thanks to @snowbunny for the suggestion in a previous post

Brilliant Natalie, I love progress like this!! It’s so encouraging. Well done for persevering and hooray for the results. Good boy Monty x
