I have to share this. I'm so proud of my boy. Dog dog reactive, so walks are a challenge at the moment. Yesterday on what used to be empty farm fields we encountered, hares 3 of them and 2 separate walkers.
The hares he sees, but I say his name and Cupar immediately returns to me without chasing.
The first walker I didn't know whether he had a dog, so Cupar was put on a lead, the guy didn't have a dog but as I'm social distancing by miles we walked down the side of the field, when I released Cupar, he took off after the guy but as soon as I called his name , he ran straight back to me.
The second walker, I could see had no dog, as Cupar was being reinforced for his sit stay, I decided to stay where we were and let the lady go past, my amazing boy sat, looked around at the lady and looked back at me.
Last but not least, on our daily exercise, we pass a garden that has a wee fluffy dog that runs and barks at everything, my boy has not once retaliated this week, he goes to the fence and looks at me to get his cheese.
This is him practicing his sit and stay.
