Meg totally suprised me at Dog School last night. The lady, L, who had Meg's arch enemy Ivy, now has a new puppy, Billy - another Border Collie. Meg's seen Billy a few times at dog school but never been near him. Billy has gone from being shy & scared to a full on, bouncy pup. Yesterday, I had to recall Meg across the ring, I was standing in front of Billy & L, about 10 ft in front of them. Meg came & sat nicely in front of me. Billy bounced and escaped L's hold and came straight up behind me to see Meg. I didn't panic (well I didn't see him until he appeared around my legs). There was a sharp intake of breath around the whole room. L was shouting "Billy! Billy!", Billy was bouncing around my ankles, Meg just sniffed him and I gathered her lead & walked calmy back to our place on the opposite side. Meg was totally unphased by everything, but gobbled up the chunk of pizza crust I rewarded her with.
Maybe a combination of them both being off lead and absolute zero stress from me. I love my girl.
Billy lives next door-but-4, ours & L's walks don't often coincide, but sometimes they do. They'll both be on lead in this case.
