It was 18 degrees at 6.30am when we took Maxx for an early walk before we head off for our long weekend. Everyone we came across mentioned how cool it is this morning - not helped by a cold wind so it does feel colder than that.I mean... it’s not much better
It’s been cold for a few days here and my son and DiL’s boiler has broken down. Although the boiler man came to repair it today it needed yet another part which he has to order. I can’t even suggest that they come here with my little grandson until it’s mended, so they’re having to rely on a couple of electric heaters.

Sunshine and showers , very heavy sleety showers . I am expecting Reubs home in about an hour , he is always squeaky clean but only because they all have a bath before clambering into the van . Anna said that the area around the pond is thick mud , rather her than me x

I can't wait, I stay out until it is dusk, if a clear night that can be as late as 4.30, but on rainy day only about 4.15pm it makes the afternoons appear longer! On my birthday 15th January, it is light until 5pmOnly ten days to go, then it starts getting lighter again!
In this postcode in Nuneaton, Warwickshire the evenings start getting lighter on the 16th December and the mornings get lighter on the 6th January.
I had this conversation with someone at work two years ago and they simply couldn't comprehend that although the 21st December was the shortest day, it didn't mean it was the day with the latest sunrise and earliest sunset.
For me, it gives me hope, once we are past the 16th December things are on the way up!

Last night was the earliest sunset here at 17:29; it starts getting later again from tonight. I compared to my sister in Surrey and hers is currently 15:53, eugh! Her sunrise is a little earlier (7:58 vs 8:13). Our sunrises start getting earlier on 6th January, too, hurrah!
