Yes, I’m always an optimist. But I’m also a planner (see my Brexshit stash!) and I have given myself something to look forward to over the winter - even if it doesn’t come off, we can hope.
It won’t be a normal holiday - but we can walk the coast, read a lot, drink lots of wine and eat in.

My beautiful 4.5 year old Cassie having a massive zoomie all by herself today as we set off for our walk this morning. I'd promised her a good one as she has been a bit short changed this week, it was a cooler autumn morning to start with, she obviously felt excited

I rarely see anyone on my woodland rambles but today , coming towards me was a smiling man with a young collie . As he drew close he called out ` Hi , I have not seen you in ages , how are you doing ?` . I replied that I was fine , hoped he was too , even though I hadnt got a clue who he was 
We stood acceptably apart , he remarked that Reuben had grown since he last saw him , yes he even used his name and still I didnt know who he was so we chatted for a few minutes , then parted company , ` Give my regards to Paul ` being his parting shot , and I`m blowed if I know who he is

It's 7.30am and I'm enjoying a cuppa on the couch with my girl. Everyone else in my house is still asleep!

Shamas was almost going to refuse to walk today but his new squeaker saved the say.
I gave it a good squeeze and jogged, and he got excited to run with me.
When a dog stepped out of his house suddenly, we turned around and Shamas didn't lose his cool

Our neighbour lives by herself and tends to keep to herself. We say hi when we see each other and collect each other's mail when we go away but that's about it.
Today she left a little present by our front door. It was a remote control truck for Nathan (nothing expensive - I've seen them for sale outside the front of the chemist). It was such a lovely, thoughtful thing to do.
I thought about buying her a gift in return but instead, I helped Nathan make her a card and we dropped it at her front door. He told her (distanced and mask wearing of course) how much he loved the toy and thanked her for it.
Five minutes later, I get a text from her saying that his card made her day. She's put it on her fridge and can't wait to show her friends when she's allowed to see them again.
In the end, I think Nathan's card meant more to her than her present did to him!

My great grandsons make cards for me when I give them anything and for my birthday. They mean more to me than anything that could be bought.
