Hopefully you get some good news today. I'll be checking this thread first thing when I wake up, and will send GGJ positive thoughts when I go to bed xoxo

Woke briefly at 3 but managed to get back to sleep until 7, which has left me feeling cautiously more positive today. Rang the Wakefield vets. Joy has spent a comfortable night after having chicken for her tea. The swelling is larger again today. The vet has again reassured me that the scan will show what's causing it and he will ring me around mid day to explain what's going on. I'm going to keep busy thismorning and keep sending all my love and positive thoughts her way.
The vet's rung back and it (fingers still crossed) sounds like good news. The CT scan showed a massive abscess from the back to the front of her jaw and pushing up into her eye socket. He suspects it's been there for a while. He said he drained large amounts of foul smelling pus from it (hope no-one's eating just now) and has thoroughly flushed it. Joy is reported to be making a good recovery from the anaesthetic. She'll stay in overnight again on powerful pain relief and IV antibiotics. He thinks she should be OK to come home tomorrow. Poor, poor little girl. No wonder she was in so much pain! I'm keeping on sending all the love and positive thoughts in the world to her in the hope that I'll have her back soon.
Oh what a relief , I know the poor lamb has been in awful pain, but it isn't something more sinister !! Hoping she improves very quickly , and is soon back where she belongs xx
Phew what a relief to know what it is - it sounds really horrible and explains it all. Hope you can relax a bit now but know you will feel even better when she’s home and on the mend.
Yes, it's a huge relief. Think I might celebrate with an afternoon snooze! After frantically keeping myself busy I suddenly feel quite tired. On the plus side, my favourite calming activities, apart from spending time with Joy are cooking and gardening so I now have a freezer full of prepared meals and a weed free garden! Thanks yet again for your support everyone.xxx
So glad it's something treatable and hope shes home tomorrow. Such a lovely dog she must have been in awful pain and still her GGJ self. He's hugs to you both xxx
Thank goodness they now know what the problem is and they can start treating it. I do hope Joy gets to come home tomorrow for both your sakes. You will both feel a lot better once she's home.
